  • Warm and fuzzy pop reigns in this utterly lovable line-up.

Willamette Week says that Wild Ones: "mixes crunchy electronic pop elements with lush live instrumentation and Danielle Sullivan's crystalline, multitracked vocals. Considering its shared members, the group can't help but remind of Eskimo & Sons, but--true to its name--Wild Ones is more playful and genre-defying. Early live shows have shown even more potential than the recordings: Wild Ones pulls off quiet numbers and full-on dance jams alike without the help of digital backing tracks, and it's clear to the audience just how much fun this band is having.."

    --------------------------------------------------
    http://wearebells.bandcamp.com/

Blending heavy percussion, soulful vocal harmonies, and thoughtful arrangements Bells has arrived at a sound that is uniquely theirs. Although they are a new group, they are quickly drawing an audience with diverse musical tastes. Birthed from the imaginations of singer-percussionist Sandra Lawson-Ndu, and bassist-singer Doug Stuart. The songs are brought to life with the help of Derek Barber on guitar and vocals, and Geneva Harrison on drums, percussion, and vibes.

    Sugar Candy Mountain
    -------------------------------------------------
    sugarcandymountain.bandcamp.com

A free-wheeling genre bending band that moves seamlessly from a psychedelic Sgt Pepperesque styles to synthy danceable bass lines straight to Brazilian balladeros. Don't miss their hilarious music videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i9FI2N_sS0

    Kapowski
    --------------------------------------------------
    http://flavors.me/kapowski/

Kapowski ...has taken a big step forward with its new record Boy Detective, a culmination of these years of experimentation. Recorded by Eli Crews (tUnE-yArDs’ w h o k i l l, Beulah), it is a rich and varied pop album: a set of tightly-constructed songs buoyed by horns, strings and vocal harmonies. Most striking is the sound of the quartet itself -- an unusual guitar-less lineup of piano, organ, bass and drums, featuring members of the avant-jazz group BEEP. On the driving “Section Eight,” massive, stuttering drums, a spry bassline, scratchy organ and a mesmeric piano line lay the bed for Rimler’s wistful vocals.

We are thrilled to play with all these wonderful bands, really just thrilled. If you are not familiar with them already check them out you are in for a treat.

  • Sleepy Todd
    --------------------------------------------------
    http://sleepytodd.bandcamp.com/

Sleepy Todd is Todd Krake and his show stopping voice. The band’s music is perfect for those long hot days spent just driving down Highway 1. Acoustic guitars, brushed drums and lots of vocal harmonizing are what this is about. This evening he will be doing a unique set of Brazilian songs.

    JJAAXXNN
    --------------------------------------------------
    jjaaxxnn.bandcamp.com

Joshua W Bruner is also the front man for psychrock band Magic Leaves once again is taking his music in a whole new direction with his latest project JJAAXXNN. Come on doing two consecutive album in the same genre that would be boring right? JJAAXXNN combine dancey/trancey beats with his affinity for psychedelic sounds to create a sound he has dubbed as urban weirdskool. Cover your kids ears though it can get explicit.

    Blonde Summer
    --------------------------------------------------
    http://blondesummer.com/

A radiant blast of indie-rock done in the ‘90’s way – with sharp vocals, insistent rhythms and churning guitars, all slathered in irresistible hooks. Bright and brainy, just the way we like it.

  • Amnesia : Valencia, San Francisco, CA (MAP)
  • Indianna Hale
    ------------------------------------------------
    www.indiannahale.com
    chasingthemoon.pdcst.com/2009/01/indianna_hale/

Indianna Hale’s ethereal voice extends to her indie country and folk sound further into the realms of old-school jazz and country blues. But this is no quaint revivalism; these songs are modern with smart lyrics that carry a whimsical fashion and speak of cheery gatherings with close friends. The arrangements are subtle and sophisticated with the help of Tom Edler on bass and Sean Olmstead on guitar, showing breadth with fewer instruments in the way of her superlative voice. Her singing has such soul and energy that she’s as often compared to Jolie Holland and Billie Holiday. It’s difficult to think of a more compelling young singer-songwriter in the Bay Area right now.

    Y La Bamba
    -------------------------------------------------
    http://ylabamba.com/

It figures that matter-of-fact polyglots like Y La Bamba would vibe with producer Steve Berlin of matter-of-fact polyglots Los Lobos, who warms up Bamba's folk-rocking second record. Frontwoman Luz Elena Mendoza can warble tremulously like a Latina Joanna Newsom, then let rip a robust alt-country holler not unlike that of Neko Case, who joins the band on the title track. Mendoza crafts massed harmonies with co-writer Paul Cameron on "Moral Panic." On "Michoacan," a brisk mariachi-scented party jam, she sings of "dias de la cocaina," "dinero," and "la iglesia catolica." It's an American vision any gringo will recognize.
    -Rolling Stone

    Daring Ear
    --------------------------------------------------
    http://daringear.tumblr.com/

Daring Ear is the new solo project from Aaron Deer (The Horns of Happiness, Wee Giant, former The Impossible Shapes and John Wilkes Booze) and is a departure from solo works of the past. Basement drumsets and fuzzy guitars are switched for classic 80s drum machines and ramshackle synths. Electro-psych joins forces with Deer's in the clouds croon. Further release information still forth-coming. Keep yer ears open.

  • Amnesia : Valencia, San Francisco, CA (MAP)
  • Alison Harris
    -----------------------------------------------
    www.facebook.com/AlisonHarrisMusic.SonomaCounty

Alison Harris sounds like a country songbird perched on Bonnie Raitt's shoulder. She sings about loneliness and longing with a grace and beauty that almost makes those things desirable.

    Great Elk
    -----------------------------------------------
    www.greatelkmusic.com

Great Elk is an indie-folk outfit founded by New York/Alaska based songwriter Paul Basile and guitarist Patrick Hay. Now a five-piece featuring Bryan Trenis, Tommy Harron and Adam Christgau, they've spent the last several years developing a strong following in NYC and touring the Northeast. GE is currently working with producer D. James Goodwin (The Bravery, Bobby) on their debut full length.

    Grand Lodge (NYC)
    ------------------------------------------------
    http://www.facebook.com/grandlodgeband

From the bright overcast diversity of San Francisco's Mission district comes Grand Lodge, a band steeped in the local quirky psychedelic underground roots of the Bay Area, yet with a unique sound all their own. After spending a few years developing their sound, which includes influences such as The Kinks, Zombies, Beach Boys, Motown, Velvet Underground, and Led Zeppelin, Grand Lodge recorded their debut album in 2010, (available on c.d. baby and i tunes). The band is currently finishing up songwriting for a follow-up 12 song album, which shows them traveling in an exciting, more visceral direction. Singles are planned to be released in November 2012, the full album to follow shortly after.
